Cakes for Cash

My name is Enora and I have been fundraising for RAFT since late September with two other girls from my school. Together, we chose RAFT because, as it was a local charity, we knew what the money would be used for.

To begin our fundraising, we did a bake sale at our school at break time. With the help of many cake donations and our own cakes, we collected an extraordinary sum of £200. Being able to organize such an event in an environment in which I was still new was very motivating for me.

As we wanted to raise even more money, we decided to take part in one of the school’s annual events, Calendar Sale. We thought that selling cakes, handmade cards and bracelets would interest people and that we would be able to fundraise an admirable total. In fact, we were able to raise another £115 pounds making a splendid total of £315.

RAFT’s program of developing an artificial skin scaffold is absolutely amazing and made us really keen on collecting as much money as possible. Where most charities help vulnerable people like children or disabled people, RAFT was the only charity which helped people with skin problems and had created a solution of their own.

We believe that RAFT is an incredible cause and were delighted to be able to raise money for their vital work.
