The Soulful Concert - an evening of harmony, beauty and song.

An evening of harmony, beauty and song took place last night at The Soulful Concert at St Bride’s Church on Fleet Street. The event was organised by Sister Snog to raise funds through song, for RAFT and The Katie Piper Foundation.

Compéred expertly by BBC London radio presenter Jeni Barnett, more than 140 guests were treated to a full programme of soulful music by four amazing choirs; Sisters of Soul, All The King’s Men, Eden Voices and the London Gay Men’s Chorus. Their repertoires included Empire State of Mind, Edge of Glory, True Colours and Only You.

The choirs, who so kindly gave up their time for free, were thrilled to perform last night. All The King’s Men said they were honoured to be performing to help raise money for two fantastic causes and the London Gay Men’s Chorus said it was a sheer joy to sing together and make beautiful music for two amazing charities.

Ukulele Lady, Sara Spade also performed with a song entitled ‘Beautiful’, which she herself had written. This bought a touch of classic nostalgia to the evening.

Beautiful poems were also read by Sharon Simpson, Katie Piper and  RAFT’s own Ambassador Ferrial Syed. RAFT was delighted to be one of the two charities to benefit from this event, with profits from the night being split equally between RAFT and The Katie Piper Foundation.

We look forward to sharing photographs from the event shortly, along with the final amount that was raised from all the wonderful supporters who attended.

A big thank you to everyone who made this evening possible.
